Close-up 2011

We Are Ready For Our Close Up begun in 2010 as Márcia Nováis graduation project. Consisting mainly in a finalist exhibition, it aimed to be Márcia's response to our school's lack of concern on student's market visibility. However, in 2011 'close-up' changed. With 8 others, I was invited in and the concept behind the exhibition started to gain other purposes. Starting in January, working through weekly meetings, our group prepared 2011's sequel, consolidating its critical discourse: we are no longer responding to our school nor want to be collected/accepted by the market. On the contrary, we propose a confrontation with this dictatorial and corrupt neo-liberal market by building parallel concepts of employment. We Are Ready For Our Close Up 2012 in progress.
